Decision Analyzer® End-User Interfaces

With Decision Analyzer’s reporting wizard, executives and operational end users can easily access mainframe data in its current location and format—relational, legacy or data warehouse. Decision Analyzer provides both a Windows and a Web browser interface to access mainframe data including VSAM, Tape, DB2, IMS, DL/I, Adabas and application data.

Decision Analyzer's Interfaces for Mainframe Data Access

Key End User Features

  • Reads from mainframe files in more than one database (for example, one or more DB2 files) in a single pass, with a single request.
  • Supports "user-friendly" field names so end users can create meaningful field names rather than using the often cryptic names of database fields.
  • Supports date and time fields.
  • Displays a logical "flat file" so that all data displays as a single list of file and field names.
  • Allows flexibility when formatting fields for printing.

Key IT Support Features

  • Allows an administrator to pre-join files so that when an end user picks multiple files, Decision Analyzer automatically joins the files.
  • Secures enterprise data by displaying only authorized files and fields for each user.
  • Protects mainframe data from update through read-only access.

Benefits of Decision Analyzer’s Web Browser Interface

  • Most users are experienced using Microsoft® Internet Explorer, which reduces the end-user learning curve for accessing and receiving information stored on the mainframe.
  • Remote users can take advantage of existing Internet accessibility.
  • IT can install the software on the organization’s web site or intranet.
  • IT can centralize software updates for easy system maintenance.
